Kolo Toure backs under-fire Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure believes that Brendan Rodgers is the right man to lead the club forward.

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has claimed that it is "crazy" to question manager Brendan Rodgers's future at the club.

The Reds dropped to 10th place in the Premier League table following Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Merseysiders are also out of the Champions League, leading to doubts over whether Rodgers is the right man to lead the team forward, but Toure believes that the Irishman needs to be given more time at Anfield.

"It's crazy to even talk about his future," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "He's a great manager and we all know that.

"Just look at how fantastic he did last season. We're all behind him and we're all trying to make things better. He's a great manager, we all love him.

"I enjoy my football under him, I feel younger than ever now. He is a great manager and he makes us play football. We will all do our best to get him and the club out of this situation."

Liverpool are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Bournemouth in the League Cup quarter-finals.
