Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has insisted that he 'understands' the difficulty faced by referees following Howard Webb's failure to award the Uruguayan a penalty.
The prolific forward was brought down in the area following an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain challenge during last Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the Emirates.
Despite replays showing that it was a foul, Webb, who is England's representative for this summer's World Cup in Brazil, failed to award a spot kick.
"I think everyone could see that it was 100% a penalty but sometimes it's difficult for the referees," Suarez told the Liverpool Echo.
"I understand that. Referees are normal people and they can miss things sometimes. It's the same with players. As a striker sometimes you make a mistake and miss a chance.
"On the pitch you can see one image, on the TV you see another image. Referees don't get to see the replays. That decision didn't go our way but we have moved on."
The Reds are currently fourth in the Premier League table.
