Luis Suarez: 'I can achieve my dreams at Liverpool'

Luis Suarez insists that he can achieve his "dream" of playing Champions League football with Liverpool.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is confident that he can achieve his "dream" of playing Champions League football at Anfield.

The Uruguayan international tried to orchestrate a move away from Merseyside last summer, but the club stood firm and managed to keep hold of the prolific forward.

Since then, Suarez has gone on to score 23 goals in just 21 Premier League games, which has helped the Reds move to fourth in the table with 12 matches left to play.

While Suarez's desire to play in the elite European competition remains, he has insisted that he wants to compete with Liverpool after captain Steven Gerrard told him about historic Champions League nights at Anfield.

"I watched the games on TV this week and when you hear that Champions League music that's motivation in itself," Suarez told the Liverpool Echo. "I want to be there with Liverpool. It's an unbelievable competition. It's where we want to be – playing against the top teams in Europe.

"Stevie has told me about Champions League nights at Anfield. He said when you have played Champions League football at Anfield you will never forget it. I want to try it for myself.

"When I arrived here I said it was my dream to play for Liverpool and play Champions League here. I know I can achieve my dreams here."

Liverpool will take on Swansea City on home turf this Sunday.
