Brendan Rodgers: 'No movement on contract extension'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says that he is yet to hold talks with the club's hierarchy over extending his contract at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that he is yet to hold talks with the club's hierarchy over extending his contract at Anfield.

The Merseyside outfit have enjoyed a fruitful Premier League campaign thus far, with Rodgers guiding the club to fourth in the standings and on course for a first Champions League berth since 2009.

However, when asked if any discussions have been held over his future, the Northern Irishman - who has 18 months to run on his existing deal - told reporters: "Nothing whatsoever.

"I have, after this year, one more year to go. I have always said I am very happy here and we're just over halfway through that contract and it is not something that comes into my thinking.

"If I was to never get offered one, I would give my life to the last day of that contract. In the meantime, until anyone says otherwise or wants to reward the staff or myself for our work, then we keep working as normal and see where it takes us."

Liverpool are scheduled to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.
