Mauricio Pochettino: 'Liverpool can win title'

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that Liverpool have what it takes to win the Premier League title this season.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that Liverpool are genuine challengers for the Premier League title this season.

Brendan Rodgers's side ran out 3-0 winners at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday, moving them up to second in the league table, just four points behind leaders Chelsea.

Pochettino also praised Liverpool's star striker Luis Suarez, claiming that the Uruguayan is amongst the best players in world football.

"Yes I think they're a definite candidate to win the league," Pochettino told reporters. "They have the right players to mount a very good challenge to win the league."

"[Suarez is] one of the best in the world, that's clear. He's one of the best strikers in the world and he's definitely been showing that throughout this entire season.

"He's been showing that skill, that quality that makes him one the best in the world that's for sure."

Liverpool are now unbeaten in nine top-flight matches, winning the last four in a row.
