Jordan Henderson reflects on how he came close to Liverpool rejection

Jordan Henderson suggests that he holds no grudges against Liverpool following their attempt to sell him back in 2012.

Jordan Henderson has relived the time that he came close to getting sold by Liverpool and insists that it is just part and parcel of the game.

Manager Brendan Rodgers reportedly considered offloading the midfielder to Fulham in 2012 as part of an exchange deal involving Clint Dempsey.

The transfer failed to go through, and since then, Henderson has become one of Liverpool's established first-team stars.

"It's going to happen in football, there are going to be times you are going to be questioned and you are going to ask questions of yourself," the Daily Star quotes Henderson as saying.

"But I felt as though I could improve. I could do better and I wanted to stick around to do that. That's how I felt at the time. Brendan helped me improve and get into the team and I want to stay there as long as possible."

Tomorrow, the 24-year-old is expected to feature for England in a friendly against Norway at Wembley.
