Liverpool reportedly confirm that Daniel Agger will be sidelined for a "few weeks" with a broken rib.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger will be sidelined for a "few weeks" after suffering a rib injury on Sunday.

The Merseyside club have reportedly confirmed that the 27-year-old centre-back will be sidelined for a period of time with a fractured rib, according to BBC Sport.

The Denmark international picked up the injury during the Reds' Carling Cup final win over Cardiff City last weekend.

Agger will certainly be out of Liverpool's home fixture against Arsenal.

Jamie Carragher is likely to replace the injured defender, who will line up alongside Martin Skrtel.
