Agent Marc Kosicke suggests that the English weather could influence whether Jurgen Klopp opts to pen a new contract at Liverpool.

Agent Marc Kosicke has claimed that the English weather is continuing to 'annoy' Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Having reached two Champions League finals since his arrival in October 2015, Klopp is allegedly a wanted man, with Barcelona and Real Madrid said to hold an interest in his services.

However, Klopp has previously indicated that he intends to take some form of sabbatical at the end of his existing deal at Anfield, which expires in 2022.

Liverpool remain keen to extend those terms, although representative Kosicke has suggested that the German may opt against staying in England because of the weather.

Kosicke told Spox: "Jurgen's contract is still valid until 2022 and it is an open secret that the club would like to extend. We still have a little time for that. We must wait and see how everything develops and whether climate change will bring better weather to England or only to Germany.

"One should not underestimate [bad weather annoying Klopp], anyway. I remember that in November or December, Liverpool first asked for a contract extension. I said: 'Let's wait'."

Liverpool currently sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League standings.
