Charlie Adam's agent Kenny Moyes blasts Gareth Bale's "outrageous" claims that the Liverpool midfielder is a "coward" after committing a lunging tackle on the Welshman during pre-season.

Charlie Adam's agent Kenny Moyes has accused Tottenham Hotspur and winger Gareth Bale of "schoolboyish" behaviour following the Liverpool midfielder's tackle on the Welshman over the weekend.

The 23-year-old accused Adam of being a "coward" after lunging at him during a pre-season goalless friendly in Baltimore on Saturday.

"It doesn't warrant a reply because everyone knows Charlie is not that type of player," the Daily Star quotes Moyes as saying.

"Everyone in football knows he has no malice or anything like that in him. For someone to have a go like that is outrageous. It was schoolboyish for them to come out and say that."

Meanwhile, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that the North London outfit are considering whether to take action against the Scotsman.
