Joe Gomez upbeat following ACL injury blow

Joe Gomez says that he is "already working towards coming back stronger" after being ruled out of action for the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has vowed to return "stronger" following his long-term layoff.

The 18-year-old, who joined the Reds from Charlton Athletic in the summer, sustained an ACL injury while on international duty with England Under-21s earlier this week.

That is likely to keep the youngster out of action until next season, but Gomez has taken to Twitter to state that he is already focused on his recovery.

Liverpool were further rocked by the news that Danny Ings will also play no further part this term due to an identical injury problem.
