Stockport County will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the League One season when they travel to Brisbane Road to face Leyton Orient on Saturday.
The Hatters are one of six teams who have won their opening two games, while the O’s will be looking to build momentum after a disappointing exit from the EFL Cup.
Match preview
Leyton Orient have certainly got off to a strange start in League One, posting a couple of very contrasting results.
The O’s were thumped 3-0 by Huddersfield Town in their season opener, though Richie Wellens and his men showed great resilience as they quickly bounced back with a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
Despite this, Orient failed to build on that result, suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in the first round of the EFL Cup.
The O’s return to action at Brisbane Road for the third match in a row, and they will be looking to take motivation from last season’s playoff semi-final victory over Stockport.
Speaking of the Hatters, the club could not have dreamed of a better start to their new campaign.
Stockport have won all three of their competitive games this season and are one of six unbeaten teams in League One as we head into matchday three.
Dave Challinor and his men kicked off the season with an impressive 2-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers, and they soon followed that up with a 2-1 win away at Wycombe.
More success came in the first round of the EFL Cup as the club powered to a 3-1 win over Crewe Alexandra – a result which delighted the home supporters.
This weekend, revenge will be on the agenda for Stockport as they look to set the record straight with Leyton Orient following their dramatic playoff exit last season.
