Kevin Nolan takes charge of Orient

Leyton Orient have appointed Kevin Nolan as the club's new player-manager.

The 33-year-old has been out of the game since the end of last season when he was released by Premier League outfit West Ham United.

However, Nolan is now back in work at the Matchroom Stadium, where he has agreed to juggle the responsibility of management alongside his playing duties.

Nolan, who made over 500 appearances for Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and the Hammers, has signed a deal with the League Two club until the summer of 2018.

He will take charge of Orient for the first time on Saturday afternoon away at Wycombe Wanderers.
