Juanfran Garcia hopeful of Pape Diop stay

Levante captain Juanfran Garcia expects Pape Diop to remain with the Spanish outfit this summer.

Levante captain Juanfran Garcia believes that Pape Diop will remain with the Spanish outfit this summer.

The 27-year-old has been the subject of reported interest from Olympiacos, but Garcia is hopeful that the midfielder will remain with the La Liga team.

"Pape is very happy. He knows that the team loves him, we are very good with him and get along very well," Juanfran told reporters at a press conference.

"But, however it is resolved it will be good for the club, whether he stays here or goes. I hope that he stays because he is very important and contributes a lot.

"I spoke with him last week. I hope that it is resolved as soon as possible and I think it will be in the best way possible."

Levante were thumped 7-0 on the opening weekend of the league season against Barcelona, but did claim a point in a goalless draw with Sevilla this weekend.
