Nigel Pearson confirms impending Leicester City exit for Paul Konchesky

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Paul Konchesky is close to leaving the Championship club.

The 32-year-old was absent from the Foxes' 1-0 win over Derby on Saturday amid reported interest from Queens Park Rangers.

"I thought it was in the best interests of the player and ourselves that he was omitted from the squad," Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester.

Konchesky moved to the King Power Stadium in 2011.
