Nigel Pearson sacked by Leicester City 'because of son's racist sex tape'

Pearson axed 'because of son's sex tape'

Leicester City reportedly decided to part company with manager Nigel Pearson because of a recent racist sex tape that involved his son James.

The 22-year-old was one of three footballers, along with Tom Hopper and Adam Smith, who were dismissed by the club for filming themselves racially abusing Thai women during an orgy.

The incident occurred during the Foxes' post-season tour of Thailand, which is the homeland of the Premier League club's owners.

According to BBC Sport, the owners, who have been concerned about the club's image ever since the sex tape emerged, felt that the controversial incident was just the latest in a string of issues with management.

When announcing Pearson's sacking on Tuesday, the club stated that there were "fundamental differences in perspective" between Pearson and the board of directors and that the working relationship "is no longer viable".

The 51-year-old's axe came less than two months after he guided Leicester to safety in the top flight.
