Leeds United could be without three players for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
While Mateo Joseph (knee) and Joe Rodon (hamstring) are still recovering from injury, head coach Daniel Farke has revealed that Anton Stach is “struggling” with a foot problem and a late call will be made on his availability for this weekend.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor were both minor doubts heading into last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Sunderland, but both were fit to feature at the Stadium of Light with the former starting and the latter making a second-half substitute appearance.
Few would be surprised to see Calvert-Lewin continue as the central striker, but Okafor could return at the expense of Brendan Aaronson, while Harry Wilson may retain his starting spot in attack if Stach fails a late fitness test.
Sean Longstaff scored a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth in April of last season, and he is set to battle with Ao Tanaka for a start in centre-midfield alongside Ethan Ampadu.
Nico Elvedi has recovered from illness and could be a contender to replace Jaka Bijol at the heart of a three-man defence in between Tarik Muharemovic and James Justin.
Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle are both expected to operate as wing-backs, while goalkeeper James Trafford will start again and boasts the highest save percentage in the Premier League this season (82.4%).
Leeds United possible starting lineup:
Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Wilson, Okafor; Calvert-Lewin
