Andrea Radrizzani: 'Leeds United must aim for top six in Championship table'

Owner Andrea Radrizzani says that Leeds United's minimum aim for the current campaign must be a top-six place in the Championship table.

Owner Andrea Radrizzani has acknowledged that it will 'not be a good season' if Leeds United do not reach the Championship playoffs.

The Yorkshire giants only finished in 13th position during the last campaign, and Radrizzani acted by replacing Paul Heckingbottom with former Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds have loaned Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker from Chelsea and continue to be linked with a number of high-profile additions, and Radrizzani has admitted that the club must aim high this season.

Radrizzani told Sky Sports News: "We are Leeds United and we need to compete for the top.

"I think the playoffs are the target and if we are not able to achieve this it is not a good season for sure. If we do more than that it will be a dream so we know what we fight for."

Leeds are expected to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Barry Douglas in the coming days.
