Leeds fans hit back at Bates

Leeds United fans have hit back at chairman Ken Bates after he labelled a group of protesters as "morons".

Fans gathered outside Elland Road before Saturday's game against Middlesbrough to voice their concerns over what they feel is a lack of investment at the club.

"We do not feel it is acceptable to refer to Leeds United fans as 'morons'," read a statement on the Leeds Supporters' Trust website.

"We do not want to get into personal battles with Mr Bates or point out the numerous inaccuracies in his words."
