Andre Villas-Boas: 'UEFA will deal with racist chants'

AVB: 'UEFA will deal with racist chants'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas expects UEFA to take action if allegations that his players were subjected to racist chants from Lazio fans are proven true.

The travelling supporters have been accused of directing monkey noises at Jermain Defoe, Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon when the two sides met in the Europa League.

"UEFA is very active on this kind of situation so and our overall objective is to kick racism out of football," said the Spurs manager.

"I can't point the finger at anyone in any way shape or form tonight because I didn't hear anything. It's for the authorities to follow up in any kind of investigation."

UEFA president Michel Platini watched the 0-0 draw from the stand, but has yet to confirm whether he witnessed any racial abuse.
