Manchester United target Paul Pogba tells fans he is staying at Juventus

Pogba tells fans he's staying at Juventus

Paul Pogba has told fans in New York that he will stay at Juventus this season, despite being widely linked with a world-record transfer to Manchester United.

It has been claimed in recent weeks that the 23-year-old is on the verge of joining Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in a £112m deal, which would make him the most expensive footballer in history.

Reports in Italy have suggested that the deal could eventually cost United £226m with add-ons, bonuses and salary.

However, there is yet to be an official announcement regarding the move, and now the player himself has thrown a spanner into the works by seemingly telling two supporters that he will remain with the Serie A giants.

During a holiday break in New York, Pogba was approached by two members of the IFTV channel, who asked him outside of his hotel if he was staying at Juve.

While signing a Juventus ball, the France international replied: "Yeah."

Pogba's trip to the US city raised eyebrows as it coincided with Real Madrid's visit as part of the club's pre-season tour.

Madrid have previously been linked with the midfielder's signature.
