Sunday's Serie A predictions including Spezia vs. Juventus

Atalanta vs. Lecce (Sunday, 11.30am)

Sunday's early kickoff sees one of Serie A's form sides Atalanta BC host mid-table Lecce, as the home side seek points to aid their top-four push.

Four wins from six have seen the Bergamaschi maintain their pursuit of a return to Europe, while the visitors' draw with Roma last week kept them seven points clear of the relegation zone.

We say: Atalanta BC 2-1 Lecce

While Lecce have found a way to pick up points on the road, and are a well-organised and settled side, Atalanta's recent prowess in the final third means that - even accounting for absences - they are the likeliest winners on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Fiorentina vs. Empoli (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Fiorentina will be aiming to end a winless run of five matches in Serie A when they host Empoli on Sunday.

The visitors, meanwhile, have also failed to win their last three league games, and would slip behind their opponents in the table should they be defeated.

We say: Fiorentina 2-1 Empoli

Although Fiorentina may be a little fatigued given that there is less than a 72 hour turnaround between facing Braga on Thursday and this match, they should have taken huge confidence from their significant victory in Portugal.

Italiano will be targeting maximum points from their next two fixtures to move further away from the relegation zone, and we expect the Violets to complete the first step of that against Empoli on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Salernitana vs. Lazio (Sunday, 2.00pm)

After a tumultuous week at Stadio Arechi, Serie A strugglers Salernitana begin life under new management on Sunday with a tough test against Lazio.

Having fired their coach for the second time this season, the Granata hope for a change of fortunes when their visitors from the capital come to town, themselves searching for form after three league games without a win.

We say: Salernitana 1-2 Lazio

There have been no draws in the previous seven Serie A meetings between Salernitana and Lazio - though several occurred many years ago - and the chaos at Stadio Arechi could see that streak continue. Already dropping like a stone, the hosts must now adapt to life under Paulo Sousa, whereas their visitors' patterns of play are well ingrained thanks to 'Sarrisimo'.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Spezia vs. Juventus (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Despite returning to form at the start of February, Juventus suffered another European disappointment in midweek, so will aim to make amends on Sunday at Spezia's Stadio Alberto Picco.

Having just strung together a three-match winning run domestically, Juve stumbled at home to Nantes in the Europa League playoffs; meanwhile, their hosts were also hauled back last time out and had to settle for a draw.

We say: Spezia 0-2 Juventus

There is little hope for Spezia in this contest based on recent results - in addition to their appalling record versus Juventus - but their visitors have lost twice to Monza this term and also against Maccabi Haifa. A surprise is possible, then, but Juve's front three contains the quality to conjure goals from nearly nothing.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Roma vs. Hellas Verona (Sunday, 7.45pm)

After a midweek setback in Europe, Roma return to Serie A duty on Sunday night, when recently revived Hellas Verona are the visitors at Stadio Olimpico.

Held in Lecce last week and then beaten by RB Salzburg, the Giallorossi's fine start to 2023 is in danger of losing momentum. Meanwhile, Verona's recovery continued on Monday, as they edged out relegation rivals Salernitana.

We say: Roma 1-1 Hellas Verona

Surely a close-fought tussle is on the cards in Rome, as neither side gives much way at the back these days - and they rarely score more than once themselves. As Roma may be distracted by European commitments, and their star man appears to be unavailable, Verona can nick a point at the Olimpico and boost their survival hopes still further.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.
