Juventus hosted Inter Milan in their Serie A clash at the Juventus Stadium.

Stephan Lichtsteiner gave the home side the lead, after heading in from Andrea Pirlo's pass.

Two minutes after the break they scored a second, when Giorgio Chiellini fired in from close range.

Arturo Vidal then further extended their lead, and although Rolando pulled a goal back, Juventus held on to the win and moved nine points clear at the top of the table.

Good evening and thank you for joining Sports Mole for live text commentary of the Serie A match between Juventus and Inter Milan at the Juventus Stadium.

One of the biggest games in the Italian calender takes place in Turin this evening, and there could not be more of a contrast in each team's form. Juventus have looked unbeatable and could move nine points clear at the top of the table with three points, whilst Inter are yet to win in the league since the turn of the year.

The starting lineups for the Derby d'Italia have been announced and I can bring them to you now, starting with the hosts.

JUVENTUS XI: Storari, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah, Tevez, Llorente

INTER MILAN XI: Handanovic, Campagnaro, Rolando, Juan Jesus, Nagatomo, Jonathan, Kuzmanovic, Kovacic, Taider, Alvarez, Palacio

JUVENTUS SUBS: Rubinho, Vannucchi, Ogbonna, Caceres, Peluso, Padoin, Marchisio, Pepe, Isla, Vucinic, Giovinco

INTER MILAN SUBS: Castellazzi, Carrizo, Zanetti, Andreolli, Icardi, Mudingayi, Botta, Milito, Ranocchia, Samuel, D’Ambrosio

TEAM NEWS: Juventus are without Gianluigi Buffon after his sending off against Lazio last weekend, so Marco Storari starts in goal. Andrea Pirlo and Girogio Chiellini were rested for that match at the Stadio Olimpico and are recalled this evening by Antonio Conte. The visitors have made two changes to their starting lineup after last weekend’s goalless draw against Catania. Saphir Taider and Mateo Kovacic are named in the starting XI, with Diego Milito dropping to the bench and Esteban Cambiasso missing through injury.

It will be interesting to see if there is any animosity between the two clubs following the failed transfer swap deal of Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic. Inter president Erick Thohir cancelled the move at the last minute under growing pressure from the club's fans.

It is no surprise that Guarin is left out of the Inter squad, but forward Vucinic could come off the bench to heap further misery on them. One of the signings that did come to the San Siro on deadline day was Hernanes, but he is unable to play tonight.

PREDICTION: Juventus have won all 10 of their home fixtures this season and it is hard to see how Inter will stop them from extending that run this evening. The Nerazzurri have not won away from the San Siro in the league since the start of November and have found the net just once in their last four games. This match should bring the best out of the away side, but my prediction is a 2-0 win for Juventus.

Juventus are six points clear at the top of table, and would have been delighted to have seen Roma's game with Parma abandoned earlier this afternoon. Another team that looked to pose a title threat was Napoli, but their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta has effectively ended any hopes they had of the Scudetto.

The players are out and kick off is just moments away.

KICKOFF! We are underway at the Juventus Stadium!

CHANCE! Juventus come close to taking an early lead, as the ball is headed back into the box following a corner. It lands to Tevez, who sees his close-range effort blocked by Handanovic. The ball comes back out to him, but the keeper is up quickly to make another fantastic save.

Despite almost falling behind, the visitors have started this game positively and enjoy a sustained spell of possession inside the Juventus half. Their move comes to an end though, as Alvarez tries to pick out Palacio in the middle, but his cross is cut out at the near post.

Taider almost picks out Palacio with a long raking pass over the top, but Barzagli does well to get a last-ditch touch and head the ball out of play.

It looks like the midfield battle will prove crucial to the outcome of tonight's match. There is a lot of space in the centre of the pitch to build attacks and it is not an area that either side will want to lose the ball.

YELLOW CARD! Kuzmanovic is the first player to pick up a booking after a poor challenge on Vidal.

GOAL! Juventus 1-0 Inter Milan (Lichtsteiner)

The home side have taken the lead, and it's a goal of the highest quality. Pirlo spots the run of Lichtsteiner and plays a stunning ball over the top that the midfielder meets to head into the far corner of the net. It was a moment of magic from Pirlo, and Inter's task is made all the more difficult now.

That goal has really settled the hosts into their usual rhythm and they are playing the ball around with confidence now. It is crucial for Inter that they don't give away a quick second goal, as there could be no way back.

Juventus are looking extremely dangerous on the counter-attack. After a lightning quick break, Tevez wastes a good chance for them as he misplaces a pass with Vidal in a dangerous position, before Pogba hammers over a strike from 30 yards out.

Pogba looks keen to test his luck from long-range in this match, and again fires in a powerful effort, but for the second time his strike goes well over. He is fully capable from that distance though, and Inter won't want to give him too many free attempts on goal.

Juventus continue to threaten, and Tevez bursts to the byline before pulling a ball back across the box, but he is unable to find any of his teammates in the middle.

Inter are showing signs that they could get back into this, and push a number of players forward. They have plenty of chances to get the ball into the box, but by the time they deliver, it is cut out far too easily by the Juventus defence.

Juventus almost get lucky following a corner, as Pirlo's delivery is flicked on at the near post, before being turned over his own goal by Kuzmanovic.

The visitors are seeing a lot more of the ball now, and are patiently moving further up the pitch. They still haven't created any goalscoring chances, and will want to test Storari before the end of the half.

CHANCE! Inter are again caught on the counter, as Pogba receives the ball in acres of space down the left wing. He finds Tevez just outside the box, and the Argentine attempts to bend an effort past Handanovic, but it is too close to the keeper, who comfortably makes the save.

CHANCE! Inter should be level, as Palacio is played through on goal by Kovacic following a quick break, but he fires his first-time strike high over the bar.

CHANCE! This game has sprung back into life as half time approaches, and Asamoah fires in a low strike that Handanovic does well to beat away.

There are going to be two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half.

Chiellini comes forward at pace and exchanges passes with Pogba, before bursting into the box and firing in a strike that is saved by the keeper at his near post. The flag was raised for a handball though, so the effort wouldn't have counted if it found the back of the net.

HALF TIME: Juventus 1-0 Inter Milan

The first half of the Derby d'Italia comes to an end, and Stephan Lichtsteiner's goal for Juventus is what separates the sides. It was a fine header from the Swiss international, but the pass from Andrea Pirlo to set it up was a joy to behold.

The stats show that Juventus have dominated the possession having seen 53% of the ball. They have also had more attempts on goal, with 11 shots to Inter's sole strike. The visitors should really have made the most of their chance, but Palacio put his effort high over the bar when well placed.

Walter Mazzarri will be looking to his bench and seeing what players could come on to change this match. Diego Milito is an obvious choice up front, with Mauro Icardi also a candidate to play a part.

The players are back out on the pitch in Turin and the second 45 minutes is almost ready to begin.

Inter kick off and get the second half underway.

GOAL! Juventus 2-0 Inter Milan (Chiellini)

The home side have extended their lead, and it's a rare goal by Chiellini. Inter fail to clear a corner and it is played back into the box by Vidal. The ball then bounces through to Chiellini, who drills in a low strike that gives Handanovic no chance.

That was just the start to the second half that the visitors didn't want. Mazzarri's team have got it all to do now, and judging by the recent poor form in front of goal, it is hard to see them coming back from this.

CHANCE! Palacio wastes another big opportunity to score for Inter, as he meets a low cross from the left wing, but gets underneath his strike and smashes the ball over the bar.

Juventus win a free kick to the left hand side of the box, and Pirlo steps up to take it. He goes for goal from the set piece with a low, curling effort, but it is straight at Handanovic, who gratefully dives on the ball.

SUBSTITUTION: Inter have responeded to going two goals behind by bring on Milito for Kuzmanovic.

GOAL! Juventus 3-0 Inter Milan (Vidal)

Surely there is no way back for Inter now, as Juventus take a three-goal lead. Llorente holds the ball up in the box and lays it off for Pogba to strike. The midfielder's effort is spilled by Handanovic, but Vidal follows up to smash a shot into the back of the net.

SUBSTITUTION: Inter make a second change, with D'Ambrosio replacing Jonathan.

YELLOW CARD! Pogba is the first Juventus player to pick up a card this evening, after a poor challenge from behind on Kovacic.

SUBSTITUTION: Barzagli has been struggling for Juventus and he comes off to be replaced by Caceres.

SUBSTITUTION: Inter make their final change, with Botta coming on for Kovacic.

Inter enjoy a rare spell of possession inside the Juventus half, as they look to salvage something form this match. They have Palacio and Millito to aim for in the middle, but are unable to pick either striker out, and the hosts are able to clear.

Nagatomo has always looked to pose an attacking threat for Inter, and does well to burst forward down the left, before winning a corner.

GOAL! Juventus 3-1 Inter Milan (Rolando)

Is this the start of a famous comeback? The corner is whipped into the middle, and it falls kindly to Rolando to fire a strike into the far corner, with Storari left rooted to the spot.

Inter are starting to see more of the ball and their confidence has been somewhat restored following the goal. If they were to score a quick second, then there is every chance of them earning a point from this match.

Barzagli's injury does seem to have made an impact to Juve, as they seem slightly more nervous at defending crosses coming into the box. Inter's substitutes have made a change too, and have injected more pace and purpose into their attack.

With Inter pushing plenty of players forward, they are open on the counter-attack, and Lichtsteiner is played in by Pirlo, but lashes a first-time effort over the bar.

SUBSTITUTION: Juventus make their second change of the evevning, as Isler comes on for Lichtsteiner.

CHANCE! Palacio has wasted some good chances this evening, and should find the back of the net, after putting a free header at the back post over the bar. A striker of his quality must score from those positions.

SUBSTITUTION: Juventus make their final substitution, with Llorente being replaced by Vucinic.

CHANCE! Inter come close to a second once more, as Rolando heads the ball goalwards following a corner, but his attempt is too close to the keeper.

We are going to have three minutes of stoppage time.

OFF THE POST! Vucinic comes close to adding a fourth goal for the home side, as he collects the ball in the box, before firing in a low effort that takes a deflection, before hitting the outside of the post and going behind.

FULL TIME: Juventus 3-1 Inter Milan

Juventus have beaten Inter Milan, and have moved nine points clear at the top of the table. Tonight's victory was their 11th consecutive home league win and it is hard to see how they will not end the season as the Italian champions.

Despite Inter's late attempt at a fightback, the game was out of their reach, and their winless run in 2014 goes on. They are a huge 26 points behind Juventus in the table, and the gulf in class was there to see for all this evening..

That's all we've got time for here. Please stay with us for all of today's latest news and results. Until next time, goodbye!
