Mancini eyes Italy job

Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that coaching the Italian national side would become "a priority" should the position ever be offered to him.

Current coach Cesare Prandelli is rumoured to be considering stepping down after the 2014 World Cup, and while stopping short of registering an interest in the role, Mancini has hinted that he would like to manage his country's national team in the future.

The 48-year-old told ANSA: "Prandelli is there right now, so we'll have to see what will happen in the future.

"But the national team is certainly not something secondary to anything, it can only be a priority."

Mancini was sacked as Manchester City manager at the end of last season.
