Balotelli drops out for Italy

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has dropped out of the Italy starting lineup for this evening's match against the Republic of Ireland.

The 21-year-old, who is believed to be suffering with a slight knee injury, has been replaced by Udinese frontman Antonio Di Natale.

Ireland have reverted back to their usual 4-4-2 formation, which means that Kevin Doyle has returned to partner Robbie Keane in attack.

Italy: Buffon; Chiellini, Balzaretti, Abate, Barzagli; Motta, Marchisio, De Rossi, Pirlo; Cassano, Di Natale

ROI: Given; O'Shea, Dunne, St Ledger, Ward; Duff, Whelan, Andrews, McGeady; Keane, Doyle
