Inverness Caledonian Thistle through to fifth round with easy win

Inverness into fifth round with easy win

Inverness Caledonian Thistle strolled into the next round of the Scottish Cup with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over fellow Scottish Premiership side St Mirren in their fourth-round replay this evening.

Gary Warren opened the scoring when he headed home Greg Tansey's cross after 20 minutes, before Tansey doubled the lead just three minutes later from the penalty spot after Marley Watkins had been brought down by Jim Goodwin.

Danny Williams made sure of the win when he stroked home the rebound after Billy McKay's effort had cannoned back off the crossbar.

Warren then flicked Tansey's corner against the bar, and Graeme Shinnie completed the rout in injury time.

Inverness will now face Partick Thistle in the fifth round.
