Inter Milan open Nigel De Jong talks

Inter Milan have reportedly opened talks with Manchester City regarding a move for Nigel De Jong.

The Dutch midfielder has stated that he would like to stay with the Citizens, despite playing a bit-part role last season.

However, Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport have reported that the Nerazzurri are in discussions about an £8m deal for the 27-year-old.

De Jong, who has 63 caps for his country, moved to the Etihad Stadium from Hamburg for £16m in 2009.
