Inter Milan's Curva Nord shut for one game after racist chants

Inter's Curva Nord shut after racist chants

Inter Milan will play their next home match with the Curva Nord stand shut after being found guilty of racist chanting during Saturday's clash with Juventus.

Serie A's disciplinary commission have acted swiftly after complaints of abusive chants subjected to Juve duo Kwadwo Asamoah and Paul Pogba during the 1-1 draw last weekend.

A minority of fans in the Curva Nord's second tier were found guilty of abusing Pogba and Asamoah after a short investigation, with the punishment a one-match closure of the North Stand at the San Siro.

That ban will apply to Inter's clash with Fiorentina on September 26, with a fine of £12,600 also handed to the Nerazzurri.

Walter Mazaarrri's side drew the season's first Derby d'Italia, as Mauro Icardi's opener was quickly cancelled out by a strike from Arturo Vidal.
