Samuel Eto'o relishing international return

Samuel Eto'o has opened up about his return to international football with Cameroon following a self-imposed exile.

The former Inter Milan and Barcelona star admitted that he is relishing the opportunity to play for his country again despite past differences with the nation's football authorities.

"It is always a pleasure and a childhood dream to represent 25 million people," the striker told beIN SPORT.

"They asked me to come back and I'm back. More than a victory, I'd like to see the soul of Cameroon reborn."

Eto'o was banned for eight months by the Cameroon football authorities after inciting a player revolt over late payments of appearance fees.

He boycotted his comeback game in protest, but has since agreed to return to the international setup following a plea by the country's prime minister.

Eto'o is currently playing his club football with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
