Hull City manager Steve Bruce is reportedly eager to sign a second player from Dundee United in a matter of months.
In July, Bruce secured the services of left-back Andrew Robertson for around £2.85m.
Now, the Hull boss has turned his attention to Robertson's former teammate Stuart Armstrong, with a view to a January move, according to the Daily Record.
The report added that Bruce sent his chief scout Stan Ternent to watch 22-year-old Armstrong in action at the weekend.
The midfielder has 18 months left to run on his contract at Tannadice Park.
