Hull City announce capture of Maynor Figueroa

Figueroa completes Hull switch

Hull City have announced the signing of full-back Maynor Figueroa on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic.

The 30-year-old, who came to the end of his contract with the Latics this summer, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the KC Stadium, where the Tigers will be playing Premier League football next season.

"I'm happy to be here and to be a part of the club," Figueroa told the club's official website. "It is a big challenge for me, but it's certainly one I'm looking forward to.

"When the team were playing the final few games in the Championship, I paid close attention to the results because I wanted Steve Bruce to achieve promotion.

"I was happy for him to earn the success. He is a great manager, and I'm looking forward to working with him again."

The Honduran international played under Bruce at Wigan in 2008.
