An own goal from Chris Gunter and a penalty from Matty Fryatt give Hull a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest to earn all three points at the KC Stadium.
It was lively start to the game from both sides, but misplaced passes in the final third meant there were no real chances created.
Forest had the first opportunity on 12 minutes whn Andy Reid's cross from the left was met by Paul Anderson, though his diving header missed the target.
Richard Garcia had an effort from 30 yards for the home side, but a deflection made it a comfortable save for Lee Camp.
Good build-up play from Forest down the left produced a rare chance when Greg Cunningham got the cross in which was headed away, but only as far as Reid, whose shot was deflected out for a corner.
The corner was well punched away by Vito Mannone, beofre Lewis McGugan hit a shot from outside the box which the keeper did well to get down to.
The home side had a couple of late chances in the first half, the first from a ball in from Joshua King to Matt Fryatt as he ran into the box, but the ball ran too far. Then Corry Evans fired a volley over the bar from 25 yards.
The half time whistle went with the sides level at 0-0.
The sides came out for the second half and it was Hull who took the lead on 58 minutes through an own goal by Gunter. Rosenior got forward and his low shot rebounded off the post, hit Gunter a couple of yards out and went into the back of the net.
Forest were shell-shocked by the goal, which came completely against the run of play.
Hull won a penalty on 80 minutes after Chambers climbed all over Chester. Matty Fryatt stepped up and hit it straight down the middle to make it 2-0.
Forest hit a late consolation through Radoslaw Majewski, but it wasn't enough to trouble Hull who ran out 2-1 winners.
