Michael Dawson: "There are positives"

Hull City captain Michael Dawson insists that there are "positives" to take from his side's draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Hull City captain Michael Dawson has said that there are "positives" to be taken after the Tigers claimed a point from their encounter with West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

Mike Phelan's side had been heading for their ninth defeat of the season after Gareth McAuley gave the visitors a first-half lead from a corner, but Dawson rescued a point for his side with a strike 18 minutes from time.

"There are positives to take - we had an awful lot of possession but it's disappointing to concede from a set piece like that - we will have to look at that in training," Dawson told BBC Sport afterwards.

"When you are 1-0 down you have got to take the game to them and I think we did.

"It's nice to score - I haven't scored three in a season in a while - but taking the three points would have been better."

The result moved Hull to 11 points in the Premier League table, with only goal difference keeping them in the dropzone.
