Robert Koren announces international retirement

Hull City's Robert Koren has announced his retirement from international football with Slovenia.

The 31-year-old, who captained his country on numerous occasions, has admitted that it was an "immensely difficult" decision to make.

"After long and careful reflection, I have decided to end my career on the national football team of Slovenia, effective today," read a statement from Koren.

"This decision is an intensely difficult one for me, as I have always taken a great pride in playing for Slovenia and later also captaining our national football team."

Koren made 61 appearances for Slovenia, scoring five goals in the process.
