Jake Livermore's Hull City suspension lifted after avoiding FA ban

Hull City lift Jake Livermore suspension

Hull City have lifted the suspension on midfielder Jake Livermore after the Football Association decided against punishing him for testing positive for cocaine.

The FA confirmed today that the 25-year-old had admitted the drugs breach but was not being punished due to the "specific and unique nature of the circumstances surrounding the case".

Livermore tested positive for cocaine in May shortly after the death of his child and was immediately suspended by his club.

A club statement read: "Jake's suspension at the club has been lifted and given the circumstances surrounding the matter we will look to support Jake as he continues to recover from what has been a difficult period for him and his family."

Hull also said that any internal disciplinary measures against Livermore would be kept confidential.
