FA rejects Hull City's proposed name change

The Football Association has rejected Hull City's proposal to rename the club Hull Tigers.

A plan by owner Assem Allam to ditch the Humberside outfit's traditional name first surfaced in 2013.

Having seen the decision rejected by the FA Council last April, the verdict was later set aside after an appeal via an independent arbitration tribunal.

However, the FA has stood by its initial stance by rejecting the 'Hull Tigers' proposal once again.

Hull were ridiculed earlier this week for announcing a new shirt sponsorship deal with Flamingo Land.
