Steve Bruce has revealed that his recent break from football has left him "hungry" to make a success of his stint in charge of Hull City.
The 51-year-old, who signed a three-year deal at the KC Stadium on Friday, had been out of the game since November 2011 following his sacking by Sunderland.
Now that he is back in the game, Bruce has admitted that he is raring to get started.
"The last few months have been the first time I've been out of the game for a long, long time," Bruce told the club's official website.
"I probably needed the break because it refreshes you. But it also makes you more hungry to come back and remind people about what you can do.
"I can't wait to get back to work and the wife is delighted that I'm going to be out from under her feet."
The Tigers are the eighth club that Bruce has managed.
