Leonid Slutsky expects to see Ryan Mason return to full training in the coming weeks, while Will Keane is on course for an October return.

Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky has revealed that Ryan Mason is close to returning to full-time training following his spell on the sidelines with a fractured skull.

The 26-year-old suffered a sickening clash of heads with Gary Cahill during the Tigers' 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in January, leaving him on the sidelines for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.

Mason admitted in May that he was simply relieved to be alive following the incident, which left him in need of surgery.

After returning to light training last month it has now been confirmed that the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is well on the road to making a full recovery, as he is expected to join his teammates in the near future.

"Ryan is between two groups at the moment," Slutsky told the club's official website. "He is doing some technical parts of the training sessions with the main group, and other parts of training he is doing outside of the group. That is a normal situation for somebody in his position."

Hull also expect to have striker Will Keane back in action by October, but there is still no timeframe on Moses Odubajo's return following a year on the sidelines with a dislocated kneecap.
