Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell pleased with second-half showing

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell states that he is pleased with his side's second-half performance, despite not getting anything out of their clash with Burnley.

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has stated that he was happy with how his side played in the second half of their Championship tie against Burnley.

The Terriers found themselves two goals down at half time due to an Andre Gray brace that included a penalty.

Powell introduced Nakhi Wells and Kyle Dempsey in the second period, the latter supplying the cross which struck off Michael Keane and flew past Tom Heaton to bring Huddersfield back into the tie in the 89th minute, but the Terriers were unable to find an equaliser.

"The response from the players after the first half was really positive," Powell told Sky Sports News following his side's loss.

"At this level, Andre Gray will take the chances if he gets them. I thought the penalty was a bit dubious, but it's gone. We didn't give ourselves enough of a chance, despite a lot of play. Our decision making in the final third was just not right.

"Nakhi Wells and Kyle Depmsey came on and really contributed to the grandstand finish. We just did not have the time to complete it."

Powell's outfit remain in 16th in the Championship table following the loss, while the victory maintained Burnley's place in third.
