Report: Hibernian close to Alan Stubbs appointment

Hibernian are reportedly poised to appoint Alan Stubbs as their new manager within the next 48 hours.

The 42-year-old has recently been linked with succeeding Terry Butcher at Easter Road and, according to Sky Sports News, the Everton youth coach is now just hours away from the job.

Butcher was axed at the end of last season following Hibs' relegation from the Scottish Premiership.

James McDonagh, the club's Under-20 coach, reportedly took training today as the playing staff reported back for their pre-season preparations.
