Half-Time Report: Luke James gives Hartlepool United the lead

Luke James's goal has given Hartlepool United a 1-0 lead going into half time of their League Two game against Newport County this afternoon.

David Pipe came close early on for Newport with a 25-yard drive after Rene Howe did well to lay the ball off to him.

Harry Worley then flicked a header over the bar from a Ryan Burge cross.

Burge himself soon had another effort cleared off the line as Newport increased the pressure.

It was Hartlepool who went in front, however, when James scored five minutes before the break.
