Report: Atletico Madrid join Hakan Calhanoglu race

Atletico Madrid have reportedly entered the race for Hamburger SV midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

The 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Juventus, is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in the Bundesliga.

According to Hamburger Morgenpost, Calhanoglu's performances have not gone unnoticed by Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who is believed to be preparing a move at the end of the season.

The youngster has a contract with Hamburg until 2018, but it is understood that his German club would be powerless to resist a big-money offer for his services.

A number of Premier League clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
