Mattia Perin named as first-choice Genoa goalkeeper

Genoa sporting director Daniele delli Carri has revealed that Mattia Perin will start the season as the club's first-choice goalkeeper.

It had been suggested that the Italian outfit would replace the outgoing Sebastien Frey with an experienced stopper, but such claims have been quelled.

"Fabio Liverani has decided to focus on Perin," Delli Carri told Football Italia.

Perin spent last season on loan at Pescara.
