Genoa full-back Luca Antonelli has said that he has nothing to prove when his side faces Napoli, the club the defender almost joined in January.
It looked as though Rafael Benitez would make Antonelli a Napoli man in the last transfer window, though the player decided at the last minute to stick with his current club.
"I do not need to prove anything to anyone, it will not be a special game for me," the full-back told Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
"Instead, I must look to further improve myself to see if I can match up to a great club like Napoli, but I do not need revenge. And then, Genoa are the best that I could hope for in my career.
"The story of the January transfer window has not affected me because I asked the president, Preziosi, to stay and he was happy."
Genoa currently occupy 11th place in the Serie A table.
