Manchester City 'chase' highly-rated Fulham youngster

Fulham are bracing themselves for an opening offer from Manchester City for forward Patrick Roberts, according to reports.

The 18-year-old broke through to the first team at Craven Cottage last season and made 20 appearances in all competitions.

However, that has attracted the interest of some major teams and The Mirror claims that City will make the first move within the next couple of weeks.

The paper claims that the club wants to increase its home-grown contingent and are scouring the country for the brightest young talent.

Roberts is said to be rated at around £10m.
