Trezeguet reveals Argentina affection

Former France international David Trezeguet has confessed that he has "always been Argentinian at heart".

The striker was part of the France squad that won the World Cup in 1998 before going on to score the winner during the Euro 2000 final against Italy.

However, having recently joined Argentine club River Plate, the 34-year-old has revealed his love for the South American country.

"France gave me so much, but I've always been Argentinian at heart and I've always been very fond of its football and national team," he said. "But, of course, when I had to take them on I'd give my all for France."

Trezeguet has scored 14 goals for River.
