Didier Deschamps: 'France must be on top form'

Didier Deschamps insists that there will be no excuse for poor performances as France prepare for friendlies against Albania and Belgium.

Didier Deschamps has claimed that there will be no excuse for his France players not being at their best in the friendlies with Belgium and Albania.

The squad must focus on friendlies after automatically qualifying for next summer's European Championship as hosts, and Deschamps insists that he will not tolerate a complacent approach.

"Very few players have really rested for a week, so I expect to find them in good condition," he told reporters.

"They are not on vacation and they know why they are here. Of course, I will be very attentive. I do not expect to see demobilised players.

"We've got to work more. We will have more meetings and we will all be together for almost two weeks."

Juventus duo Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba will join up with the squad after Saturday's Champions League final.
