Alessandro Matri joins Fiorentina on six-month loan

Fiorentina have confirmed the arrival of AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri on a six-month loan deal.

The 29-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Juventus in the summer but has only managed one goal in 18 appearances for the club.

"ACF Fiorentina announces that it has acquired on a temporary basis the rights to the football player Alessandro Matri from AC Milan," read a statement from the club.

The Italian international comes in as a replacement for Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi, who are recovering from knee injuries.

"I'm hungry to play and score lots of goals," Football Italia quotes him as saying.

Matri has scored one goal in five appearances for the Azzurri.
