Vincenzo Montella hails Fiorentina desire

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella says that his team deserved to beat Atalanta BC in their Serie A clash on Saturday evening.

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has said that his team deserved to win their Serie A clash with Atalanta BC on Saturday evening.

The Viola claimed a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Josip Ilicic and Rafal Wolski, as they kept up their challenge for a top-three spot.

"This victory wasn't a forgone conclusion, it was a team victory." Montella told Sky Sport Italia.

"We faced a team who caused us a lot of problems right till the end, but overall based on our play and chances I think we deserved this victory.

"I saw real desire and of course we can get better. Today I decided to rest people that needed a break and now we can look ahead to the upcoming games."

Fiorentina are currently fourth in the Serie A table and sit three points behind third-placed Napoli.
