The Champions League is finally back after the small matter of a World Cup, with some tasty ties to whet our appetite. Tottenham are the first of the English teams to return to action, but the timing couldn't be much worse, with Hugo Lloris and Rodrigo Bentancur both injured and a 4-1 hammering at Leicester seriously denting their hopes of making it back into the Champions League next season. The one chink of light for Spurs is their opponents, AC Milan, are hardly in a great position themselves, winning just two of their nine matches since club football resumed. Milan are favoured to win on the night, but bookmakers still make Tottenham slight favourites to progress over the two legs. Given neither side will be relishing the return of European football, it's PSG vs Bayern Munich that's likely to have more eyes on it, in a rematch of the 2020 final and 2021 last eight tie. To add to the excitement, it's worth looking out for Champions League free bets and offers, with reminders of how to bet on Champions League matches also available if you need a refresher. Looking ahead to Wednesday, Chelsea are somewhat surprisingly fancied to see off Borussia Dortmund over the course of two legs, despite the Germans being on a run of seven straight wins, while Graham Potter's side have tasted victory just once in eight games. Scott Parker's Club Brugge host Benfica in the final Champions League match of the week, and it's the Portuguese who are strongly fancied, with Brugge continuing to tread water domestically.
