Evian TG bottle it away to Reims

Reims come from behind to defeat Evian TG 3-2 in Ligue 1 thanks to two goals in the final 20 minutes.

Two goals in as many minutes saw Reims turn their Ligue 1 match with Evian TG on its head and emerge 3-2 winners after trailing with 20 minutes remaining.

The home side broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Diego smashed home from inside the box, after visiting goalkeeper Jesper Hansen had thwarted an initial effort by Prince Oniangue.

Evian trailed until just before the hour mark as Daniel Wass rose high in the area to meet Youssouf Sabaly's cross and nod his side on level terms.

Wass turned provider when Evian bagged their second in the 69th minute, supplying a cross for Cedric Cambon to head in and put the visitors in front for the first time in the game.

The away team's lead lasted less than 10 minutes as Aissa Mandi headed Reims back level in the 78th minute following a corner, and things quickly got worse for Pascal Dupraz's men as Cedric Cambon was given his marching orders for a remark made to the referee in the aftermath.

Evian really bottled it in the 80th minute, allowing Diego to gain possession inside the box and help himself to his second of the evening and the decisive goal in five.

The result leaves Evian in 14th place in Ligue 1, while Reims sit comfortably in mid-table.
